Hi friends!
It seems that nature is prescribing I take a little writing break this month; but no worries, I’ll be back in August. :-)

Meanwhile, I leave you with the following prayer I wrote for the church I am serving at this summer (the scripture which inspired it was Colossians 3: 12-15):
Church, walk with me in your imaginations through a heavily wooded forest until you come to a clearing and hear the burble of a little stream of water as it passes over rocks and brushes along banks, moving along on its everlasting way. Find a place to perch along its banks and dangle your fingers in the water if you like.

God of peace,
Today we still our hearts in your presence
And as one, we release our fears and anxieties into the flow of your love.
God who binds,
who knits us together,
One and one and one and one, into the one body,
God of hands and feet, of head and hair, of muscle, bone, and fat,
God of the here and now,
Of work and play and holiday,
Ground us, one body, here, now, in the soil of life.
God of the ordinary,
Of the lost and forgotten,
Of the queer and the neurodiverse,
God of the different,
Of the liminal and the margins,
Today we humble ourselves,
Knowing all are found and bound in you
God of the weak and lowly,
Of the poor and needy,
God of the captive and the prisoner,
Of the refugee, the migrant, and the immigrant,
Today we plead with you to guide our steps and strengthen our hearts as we who are of privilege bear witness to laws and decisions which are directly opposed to your mandate of Love for the least and do not mean freedom for all.
As we learn to walk in your ways,
May you, Divine Love, go ever before us, behinds us, and beside us,
Amen.

Amen and amen.
Until August, with much love,
Carissa
Amen and Amen! Enjoy your break, Carissa 😘
